NIRF Ranking 2020 released, IIT Madras tops the overall list – Times of India

NEW DELHI: The HRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ will announce the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) India Rankings 2020 via live webcast today i.e., June 11, 2020. The NIRF India Rankings 2020 for best universities and institutions in India will be released at 12.00 pm.

An information available on the official website reads “e-Release of India Rankings 2020 at 12:00 Noon on 11th June 2020 by Hon’ble Minister Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’.”

The NIRF India Rankings 2020 got delayed due to the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic. The rankings will be released for various categories — Overall, University, Engineering, College, Management, Pharmacy, Law, Architecture, and Medical.

Last year, NIRF India Rankings 2019 were announced by President of India Ram Nath Kovid on April 8, 2019.

A core committee set up by MHRD considers certain parameters such as Teaching, Learning and Resources, Research and Professional Practices, Graduation Outcomes, Outreach and Inclusivity, and Perception for ranking universities and institutions.

NIRF India Rankings 2020: Live Updates

1.48 pm: In Management institute category, IIM Ahmadabad ranked first followed by IIM Bangalore and IIM Calcutta.

1.46 pm: In the University ranking category, IISc Bangalore ranked first followed by JNU and BHU.

1.41 pm: In Architecture category, the IIT Kharagpur ranked top followed by IIT Roorkee and IIT Calicut.

1.37 pm: NLU Bangalore ranked number one in law category

1.35 pm: Top 3 in Engineering

11: 51 am: MHRD will soon release the list of top Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Law, Architecture, Medical colleges/universities/institues in India.

11:48 am: The NIRF rankings 2020 will be released for nine categories.

11:41 am: MHRD will also publish Atal Ranking of Institutions for Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) rankings today along with the India rankings.

11: 34 am: Last year, Miranda House bagged the first rank in the college category.

11: 33 am: In the Engineering category of NIRF 2019 ranking, Indian Institute of Technology Madras had topped the list with 89.05 scores.

11: 29 am: For over all category, Indian Institute of Technology Madras had bagged first rank with 83.88 scores in NIRF ranking 2019.

11: 23 am: IISc, Bengaluru had topped the list with 82.28 scores, in top universities in India. Jawaharlal Nehru University bagged the second position with 68.68 scores and the Banaras. Hindu University got third rank with 65.55 scores.

11: 21 am: Last year, the NIRF India Rankings were published on April 8.

11: 18 am: As per information available on the official website, the rankings will be announced at 12.00 pm.
